About

For over four decades, Schug Carneros Estate has crafted refined and age-worthy wines in the cool Carneros Appellation of Sonoma County. Founded in 1980 by veteran winemaker Walter Schug and his wife Gertrud, both from Germany, the winery is now led by their children Axel, Claudia, and Andrea. Johannes Scheid, who hails from the Mosel region, took over the winemaking duties in 2019. The cellar team continues to perfect the wines while upholding the family’s European winemaking philosophy of respect for terroir and elegance.
